Led by Land Trust Staff, this hike will start from the trailhead on Highway 32 and follow Deer Creek downstream into the canyon. We will follow the water to the fish ladder within the preserve before returning on the same route. Phenology is the study of seasonal change so we will be looking at how the land is waking up from its winter slumber and enjoying all the new life of spring! This will be the general theme of the hike, but we’ll also observe the stunning geological formations of the area and learn about the importance of the Deer Creek Preserve as critical wildlife habitat and a future wildfire buffer. Sign up now!
