Image of creek rushing over rocks with trees in backgroundOn March 30, 2012, The Land Trust acquired the 600-acre Lower Deer Creek Falls property in fee located in eastern Tehama County, California. The property was conveyed to The Land Trust for the purpose of acquiring habitat to protect rare, endangered, threatened or fully protected species within its riparian corridor, canyon slopes and hillsides and to continue to provide compatible public access and use. The property was initially acquired from Sierra Pacific Industries by Western Rivers Conservancy. Western Rivers Conservancy then conveyed the property to The Land Trust through an acquisition grant provided by the Wildlife Conservation Board.
